Gamification in a News English Course

چکیده
Studies examining the link between gamification and News English learning are scant. This study explored effects of a gamified activity using card games, slides, sheets (CSCL) model on performance through quasi-experimental mixed-methods design. Pretests post-tests students’ self-reflections were employed to determine responses activity. Gamification significantly positively affected experimental group’s (EG) performance, with both lower higher achievers improving significantly. Furthermore, EG participants regarded be fun interactive hands-on experience. was considered useful for content comprehension vocabulary acquisition. The mechanisms which analyzed, implications application in further research presented.
